I’m getting ready for the pushback.

Because the truth is, my business has changed. Dramatically.
And I’m changing with it.

This past year, I was diagnosed with a chronic health condition that made me reckon, properly, with the pace and pressure I’d been living under. At the same time, I began working with the incredible Kelly Diels, and something clicked — or maybe cracked open.

I realised that even though I was building a values-led business, I was still operating within a deeply patriarchal, corporate framework. I had spent years as an associate in a coaching practice, and I assumed that’s where my work would stay. But I was unintentionally coaching people to succeed inside a system I no longer believed in.

Getting sick forced me to stop.
Working with Kelly helped me come home to myself, to my activist roots, my systemic thinking, my deep belief that business can be a site of liberation, not just survival, and not just making money.

So I’ve made some big changes.
My business model is shifting.
And my prices are increasing.

I’m getting ready for the pushback because I know what’s coming:

“How can you call yourself anti-capitalist and raise your prices?”

And here’s my answer:

Making money and being a capitalist are not the same thing.

For years, I kept my fees low so I could help “everyone.”
But I stayed broke. Exhausted.
Resentful. Spinning my wheels.

I sabotaged my own growth because I believed money was dangerous, that it would corrupt me, disconnect me, turn me into the very thing I was fighting against.

People like Kelly, Rachel Rogers, Simone Seol, Maegan Megginson and her podcast Deeply Rested (**See below**), Rha Goddess, among others, have all taught me that this is exactly what capitalism wants me, wants all of us to believe, that it’s either/or:

❌ Do good or make money.
❌ Help people or be a sell-out.

But that binary is a lie.

And I’m done believing it.

Now that I’ve resourced myself, everything has changed:

🌀 I can now offer a limited number of scholarships to my group programmes
🌀 I can coach a dedicated client who doesn’t have the funds, for free for a whole year
🌀 I can donate my time to a local charity doing brilliant work
🌀 I pay two freelancers to work in ways that support their long-term goals
🌀 I donate funds to causes I care about
🌀 I can take 5 weeks off this summer to finish writing my book The Reluctant Capitalist
🌀 And when it’s published, I can sell it accessibly and give it away freely

This is what becomes possible when we stop sacrificing ourselves at the altar of being “affordable.”

I am doing my best work and I get better results with and for my clients than ever before.
This is what becomes possible when we refuse the scarcity script.

So yes, I’m growing my business.
Yes, I’m raising my prices.
And yes, I’m doing it from a place of deep alignment, care, and integrity.

Not in spite of my anti-capitalist values, because of them.

And if the detractors come for me?
Let them.

I’m building a business that liberates me and others.
And I want that for you, too.

Let’s liberate ourselves and our businesses — together.
